1. Introduction

EnsoMori respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the EnsoMori application.

2. Data Collection and Storage

EnsoMori is designed with a strict local-first philosophy:

• Local storage. All of your journal entries, intentions, and moments are stored locally on your device. We do not transmit, back up, or store this data on our servers.
• Local app observation. EnsoMori uses Android Usage Access and an Accessibility Service to detect which app is in the foreground, whether it is one you selected, and how long or how often selected apps are used. This processing happens on your device. EnsoMori does not inspect the text, images, messages, or other content shown inside those apps.
• No third-party tracking. We do not use analytics trackers, advertising SDKs, or behavioural advertising services. App-observation and usage information is not sent to us or sold to anyone.
• No account required. You do not need to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personally identifiable information to use EnsoMori.

3. Android Permissions

EnsoMori asks only for permissions needed to provide its on-device observations and reminders:

• Accessibility Service. Used to receive foreground-app changes for selected-app notifications and app-hopping awareness. The service reads the foreground app's package name, not the contents of your screen.
• Usage Access. Used to show factual, on-device information such as time spent in selected apps and how often they were opened.
• Notifications and alarms. Used for awareness prompts and the optional Daily Look Back at the time you choose.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to outside parties.

Voluntary feedback. The only time your personal data leaves your device is if you voluntarily use the "Share Feedback" feature. When you do, your email client opens with a pre-filled draft. It includes your feedback, basic system information to help troubleshoot bugs (device manufacturer, model, Android version, app version, and your timezone setting, which does not use GPS location), and anonymous usage statistics such as your total number of Look Backs, journal entries, and days present. It will never include the actual content of your journal entries, intentions, or moments. Because it opens in your own email app, you have full control to edit or delete anything before sending.

5. Content and Read-Aloud (Internet Access)

EnsoMori fetches its written articles from the internet so it can show you new content over time. The optional "read aloud" feature sends only the article's own text, never your journal entries, intentions, moments, or any other personal data, to Microsoft's Edge text-to-speech service to generate the spoken audio. No personally identifiable information is transmitted in this process.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
